Calvin Jerome
Dobie
Sep 17, 1955 — May 1, 2026
With heartfelt reflection and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Calvin Jerome Dobie, who peacefully transitioned on May 1, 2026.
Calvin was born on September 17, 1955, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the late James Dobie and Catherine Dobie. He was a man of strength, character, and authenticity—known for his outspoken nature, yet grounded by a genuinely kind and caring heart.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Army for five years. Following his service, he continued his commitment to diligence and responsibility through his work as a truck driver, a profession he carried out with pride and perseverance.
Calvin was a man who embraced life fully. He was a great listener, always willing to lend an ear, and carried a youthful spirit that brought laughter and joy to those around him. Known for his sense of humor and warm personality, he had a way of making others feel at ease. He also took pride in his cooking—especially his barbecue, which was enjoyed and remembered by many.
Above all, Calvin loved his family. His children were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His legacy is one of love, strength, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Dobie and Catherine Dobie.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughters, Denisha Cobb and Latarsa Christian; three grandchildren, Raven Battle, Larikia Dobie, and Ahmahd Lucas; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Though he is no longer with us in presence, the impact of his life, his laughter, and his love will remain with us always.
