Edna Muriel McAfoos, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at age 76, on May 25, 2026. She was surrounded by her three daughters, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many beloved family and friends on the day that she passed.

Born on November 9, 1949 in Marianna FL., she captured “southern charm and hospitality” as a little girl, and carried that demeanor her whole life. She is remembered as giving her heart and time unselfishly, to care for others. Edna was known for always making sure everyone was “fed and comfortable”. She had an undaunted love for animals too, and would never let one “go hungry” if she could help it.

A beautiful smile and a little “wit” was always on tap. Her genuine sincerity and personal interest in others could be felt by every person she met, and consequently they would feel drawn to her. Making others happy is what gave her joy.Most especially, her joy was found in the Christian life she lived as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Edna loved her Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and took advantage of every opportunity to zealously and fearlessly witness to others about Him.

She is survived by 3 daughters ; Tina Lara(Dagoberto), Ginger Berman, and Sheila Thomas(James); Her Grandchildren, Jonathan Phillips, Weston Phillips(Olivia) Jessica Phillips, Ariana Toro(Jake), Blaise Berman(Alexandra), Bella Ackermann(Cameron), Steele Berman, Simon Thomas, Eli Thomas, Aaron Thomas; Her great grandchildren, Arthur Phillips, Catalina Toro and River Toro.

She will be dearly missed, but we know we will see her again soon in God’s promised paradise here on earth.

Revelation 21: 4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
