Gary Van
Bohannon
March 29, 1949 – April 11, 2026
Mr. Gary Van Bohannon, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 11, 2026. Gary was born on March 29, 1949, in Leesburg, Florida, to the late Mr. James Bohannon and Mrs. Frankie Bohannon.
A true provider and craftsman, Gary spent many years working in the construction industry and took great pride in his work. Known as a hardworking and dependable man, Gary carried himself with quiet strength and a selfless spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Beyond his work, Gary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Florida State Seminoles, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his teams. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and listening to music—moments that brought him peace and happiness. Gary also had a remarkable wit and memory, often joking that his mind was “full of useless information,” as he could effortlessly answer even the toughest Jeopardy! Questions, bringing laughter and amazement to family and friends alike.
Above all, Gary was a family man. His love was steadfast, his presence comforting, and his heart generous. He poured love into his family with care, guidance, and devotion, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to live on through each of them.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Frankie Bohannon, and one brother, Edward Bohannon.
Gary’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Leah Bohannon; his son, Chris Bohannon (Tina); his daughters, Jenna Bohannon, Cheyanne Bohannon, and Makayla Bohannon; and his four cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leah, Laura, and David. He also leaves to honor his legacy one brother, John Bohannon; his sisters, Sharon Bohannon, Candy Joest, Debi Draper, and Paige Gaskin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
Though he has departed this earthly life, the love Gary gave, the laughter he shared, and the life he lived will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
