George Wesley Blagmon, age 70, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida.George was born on February 1, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Shirley Blagmon. After graduating from South Philadelphia High School in 1974, George enlisted in the United States Navy in 1976, proudly serving his country for 20 years.

On May 5, 1975, George married the love of his life, Alberta Humphrey, and together they were blessed with their beloved son, Maurice.

Following his military retirement, George worked for AOL and the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA). Missing life on the water, he returned to maritime service with the Military Sealift Command (MSC), where he worked until his final retirement.

A man of faith, George accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young man. He was a faithful member of Light of the World Chapel under the leadership of the late Pastor Thomas R. Ridley.

George was preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirley Blagmon; his beloved wife, Alberta Blagmon; and his cherished granddaughter, Aleysia Sade Blagmon.

He leaves behind a rich legacy and is survived by: his son and daughter-in-law, Maurice Wesley Blagmon and Tye Blagmon; four grandchildren, Aliyah, Maurice Jr., Tyreese, and Jaquon; two great-grandchildren, Nasir and Madisyn; one brother, William Blagmon; three sisters, Darlene, Yvonne, and Mavauneen Blagmon; one uncle, Robert; two aunts, Roberta and Ethel; four sisters-in-law, Nadine, Brenda, Thelma, and Neicy; two brothers-in-law, Philip and Albert; childhood best friends, Mike Waters and Loyd Morris; favorite cousin, Leroy; shipmate and dear friend, Mr. Rob; alongside a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
