Joshua Dewane Butler, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on January 2, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1982, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Dewane H. Butler and Catherine C. Miller.

Joshua was a man of many talents and a heart full of generosity. He had a deep love for the ocean and found joy and peace while surfing. Known for his exceptional skill as a pool player, Joshua's talent was matched only by his humility and sportsmanship. Above all else, he cherished his family and lived as a true giver at heart—always willing to lend a helping hand or offer encouragement to those around him.

He was a proud graduate of Englewood High School, where he excelled academically as a straight-A student and was honored as a member of the National Honor Society. His strong work ethic and dedication carried into adulthood throughout his professional life.

Joshua began his career in the service industry, where he worked as a waiter at Bonefish Grill and Carrabba's, earning the respect of coworkers and guests alike for his kindness and professionalism. He later transitioned into a skilled trade, becoming a highly regarded HVAC Technician with Bacca Heat & Air, where his technical expertise and reliability were valued by both clients and colleagues.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Dewane H. Butler.

He is survived by his loving mother, Catherine C. Miller, and his brother, Jacob C. Miller, along with a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Joshua will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love for family, and the quiet but powerful way he gave of himself to others. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort, and his legacy of generosity and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
