Ericksen L. McConnell, LFD/E, CCO

Founder & Owner, Omega Mortuary & Cremation Services, LLC

Guided by faith, compassion, and dedication to service, Ericksen L. McConnell established Omega Mortuary & Cremation Services, LLC with a clear mission: to provide families with dignity, comfort, and care during life’s most difficult moments.

A licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Ericksen brings both professional expertise and a heartfelt commitment to the families of Jacksonville and the surrounding communities. A Georgia native, Ericksen relocated to Jacksonville in 2014. His journey in funeral service and ministry began at the age of five, as he watched his godfather faithfully serve families at The Dorchester Funeral Home—an experience that sparked his lifelong calling to serve others with compassion and excellence.

Ericksen is a proud graduate of Orange Park High School and Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, where he earned his A.S. in Funeral Services.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ericksen serves faithfully as a minister at New Bethel AME Church (Jacksonville, FL) and at his home church, Thebes AME Church (Midway, GA). His ministry reflects the same compassion, integrity, and leadership that define his work in funeral service.

Under Ericksen’s leadership, Omega Mortuary stands as a beacon of faith, family, and service—embodying its motto: “A Compass During Your Time of Sorrow.” His work goes beyond providing funeral services; it is a true calling rooted in helping families find peace, comfort, and direction during moments of loss.

Omega Mortuary & Cremation Services is proudly the only Black-owned, independently operated funeral home rooted in the Arlington neighborhood, serving families throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding communities with dignity and care.

As the youngest funeral home owner in the Southeastern region, Ericksen represents a new generation of leadership—one built on professionalism, innovation, and heart. Rooted in Jacksonville but serving families across Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker, and surrounding counties, he continues to expand Omega’s reach with excellence and compassion.

When not serving families, Ericksen is active in continuing education, community outreach, and professional development. He is deeply committed to building generational wealth, empowering others, and leaving a lasting legacy of service, compassion, and excellence for future generations.

Erica McConnell

Director of Client Services & Administration

Erica O. McConnell is a compassionate professional dedicated to serving families and uplifting communities through education, wellness, and ministry of care. A native of Midway, Georgia, she was raised in Miami, Florida, where she completed her education and developed a strong foundation of service, faith, and community involvement.

At Omega Mortuary and Cremation Services, Erica considers it a profound honor to serve families alongside her son as he walks in his purpose and calling. For Erica, funeral service is more than a profession—it is a ministry of compassion and care. She approaches every family with sincerity, empathy, and respect, recognizing the sacred responsibility of supporting loved ones during some of life’s most difficult moments. Erica is deeply grateful for the opportunity to walk beside families as they navigate loss, ensuring they receive the care, dignity, and support they need today, tomorrow, and for as long as they need guidance.

Erica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Education. She is a former classroom educator who has taught in both public and private schools, where she was committed to supporting students and families through learning, mentorship, and guidance.

In addition to her work in education, Erica is a graduate of Dudley’s Beauty College and the founder and owner of Madame Omega’s Hair and Wellness. More than a salon, Madame Omega’s is a wellness-centered space that focuses on healthy hair, scalp care, and holistic well-being. As a licensed cosmetologist, hair loss specialist, and educator, Erica believes that every person deserves to feel beautiful both inside and out, and that true wellness is a full-body experience

Guided by her faith and commitment to service, Erica believes strongly in the power of love, kindness, and community. As written in Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” This scripture reflects her belief that we are called to serve one another with compassion and grace.

Erica is member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and the proud mother of four children and two grandchildren, and she remains deeply thankful for the opportunity to serve families and her community with humility, care, and dedication.
